At Elite Dance Centre, dance is more than just movement — it’s a partnership between dancer, parent, and instructor. We value respect, responsibility, and a shared commitment to each dancer’s journey.

Parental support is essential, especially for Dance Team members. Parents play a critical role in communication and accountability throughout their dancer’s training.

• Please check the studio bulletin board bi-weekly and stay updated on handouts distributed in class.
• Remain engaged and informed — policies and expectations may evolve throughout the season.

Attendance & Makeups

• Consistent attendance is vital for progress and group cohesion.
• While missed classes are non-refundable, students are welcome to make up their class on another day/time (if available).
• Please notify the directors if your child will be absent.
• In cases of extended illness or emergencies, contact the studio directly to discuss options.

Weather-Related Closures

• All delays and cancellations will be posted on:

  • Via email blasts
• We do our best to post updates at least 3 hours before class starts. When in doubt, use your best judgment based on local driving conditions.

Classroom Behavior Expectations

Our goal is to provide a positive, focused, and respectful learning environment for all dancers. To support this, students are expected to follow these guidelines:

• 🎧 Listen to your teacher. No talking with friends during class — it distracts everyone.
• 🩰 Respect studio equipment. Please don’t pull up on or hang from the barres. They’re for balance only.
• 💇‍♀️ Come prepared. Dress appropriately, arrive with a good attitude, and be ready to give your best.
• 🕒 Be punctual. Arrive early enough to change and be on time. If you need to leave early, inform the instructor before class begins.
• 🚫 No gum, food, or drinks (other than water) are allowed inside the studios.

 Dance Team Expectations

All Recreational and Pre-Professional Dance Team members are required to:

• Review and sign the Dance Team Handbook each season.
• Follow all team policies regarding studio conduct, attire, attendance, and competition rules.
• Maintain a respectful and committed presence both in class and at events.

Our instructors are responsible for maintaining a productive and respectful classroom environment. They have the authority to:

• Redirect students not meeting behavior expectations.
• Dismiss any student causing repeated disruptions or showing disrespect.
• Enforce dress code and studio rules — no exceptions.

Dance class is not structured like traditional school. You won’t be dancing from 8 AM–3 PM five days a week, and progress isn’t measured with grades.

• Not all dancers will advance at the same pace — and that’s okay!
• Students are encouraged to compete with themselves, not others.
• Every dancer will be challenged at their own level within each class.

Please review the registration forms and waivers within your online accounts carefully for a full list of studio policies and agreements.

• If your dancer is part of a competition team, check with the front desk to ensure you’ve read and signed the Dance Team Handbook.
• All team members must sign the handbook in order to participate in team and competition classes.
